16. Mouse & Screenshots

16.1 Mouse Commands
Speaking Access includes a few simple commands that act like basic mouse actions. These are useful when a student needs to press a button, open something, or bring up extra options.
- “Click” — a normal left-click.
- “Double Click” — two quick left-clicks (often used to open items).
- “Right Click” — opens a menu with extra options.
When to use these
- Press buttons like OK, Save, Next, or Close.
- Open files or folders (double click).
- Bring up extra options like Rename, Copy, Paste, or Properties (right click).
16.2 Take a Screen Shot
The command “Take a Screen Shot” captures what is on the screen at that exact moment and copies it to the clipboard.
What it is useful for
- Sharing an error message or a problem with a teacher or support person.
- Capturing something important on a webpage or in a program.
- Saving a quick picture of what the student is seeing.
What to do after you take it
Since the screenshot goes to the clipboard, the next step is usually to paste it into something—like an email, a document, or a chat message. Once pasted, it can be sent or saved like any other image.
